Daisy - Original

NOK 20,000.00

An everyday object transformed through glass, gold, reflections and detail.

The Story

Daisy began with a personal request.

The Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance was a favourite of my partner, and after I completed Chanel No. 5, she made it very clear that Daisy had to be next.

What initially seemed like a relatively simple subject quickly became much more interesting. The combination of transparent glass, the warm golden tones of the fragrance and the sculptural white flowers created exactly the kind of contrasts I enjoy exploring in my work.

For me, Daisy is also part of a fascination with beautifully designed everyday objects. Removed from their usual surroundings and given space on a completely white background, they can be viewed differently — less as products and more as objects of design.

The Process

Daisy was drawn entirely by hand using colored pencils.

The greatest challenge was recreating the different surfaces within the same artwork: transparent glass, liquid, reflective gold and the soft white petals of the bottle’s distinctive flowers.

The gold details became one of my favourite parts of the finished piece. Layers of yellow, brown, white and subtle reflections were carefully built up to create the illusion of a metallic surface and give the artwork its warmth.

Against the almost entirely white composition, these golden details become the natural focal point and give Daisy its understated character.
