About the artist

Kunstneren Kristoffer Ask Hansen sitter foran et bord med en stor mekanisk hyperrealistiske tegning.

My name is Kristoffer Ask Hansen. I´m a Norwegian artist based in Sandnes.

Working with colored pencils, I create small and large scale hyperrealistic artworks on paper. Some of my artworks are everyday items sized up so everyone can appreciate details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

My closest might suggest I´m autistic and propped full of ADHD. And to some extent I have to agree, as ever since I started doing art my hyperfocus lets me sink into the details and the hours just fly. I have had a few instances where I’ve been drawing over 15 hours straight and suddenly feeling hungry and noticing what time it is.

The art you see on this page are a big part of me and my observations and interest over the years. There are both good and bad memories attached to them in both the creation and the subjects them selves.

I do usually look happier, but somehow I can’t smile and look good in a photo.

I collect ideas, objects and subjects out in the world, but the work is done in the studio. It’s the place I feel most at peace in the world, by the large drawing table my dad built me.
