Heart of the Mountain was created during one of the most difficult periods of my life. After struggling for a long time, I was diagnosed with depression. Throughout it all, my partner and fiancée stood by my side with incredible patience, love, and support. I wanted to create something that was entirely for her.

Her last name, “Fjell,” translates to “Mountain,” which gave me the idea almost immediately. I wanted to combine an anatomical heart with the strength and permanence of rock and mountains, while revealing something precious within — a heart of gold.

The result became Heart of the Mountain: a deeply personal piece about love, strength, and the person who remained beside me when I needed it most.
